OpticWise is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

OpticWise (opticwise.com) is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Measures Taken

OpticWise takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of opticwise.com:

  • Skip navigation link on every page
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation with ARIA landmarks and roles
  • Focus management and visible focus indicators for all interactive elements
  • Focus trapping in modal dialogs (Schedule Review, Cookie Preferences)
  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA minimum (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Reduced motion support via prefers-reduced-motion media query
  • Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative images marked appropriately
  • Accessible tab and filter controls on the Insights listing
  • ARIA live regions for dynamic content updates

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Third-party form embed: Contact and scheduling forms are loaded from an external service (OWNet). While we control the modal shell and focus management, the form fields themselves are rendered by a third-party embed whose full accessibility we cannot guarantee.
  • Third-party embeds: Vimeo video players and LinkedIn newsletter links are third-party services with their own accessibility characteristics.
  • PDF documents: Some downloadable materials may not be fully accessible. Contact us for alternative formats.
